Audition Instructions

 

  1. Research the show by listening to the Guys and Dolls Original Studio Cast (First complete Score Recording), watching a professional production, and researching the musical here

  2. Review the audition packet for details about characters, audition songs, and production expectations.

    • “Guys and Dolls” m. 43-58 as any member of the ensemble or Arvide (any vocal range): accompaniment (1:04-1:23)​

    • “I’ll Know” as Sarah (soprano) pick up to m. 25-39: accompaniment (1:25-2:15)

    • “Adelaide’s Lament” m. 9a-33 as Adelaide (alto): accompaniment (1:33-2:31)

    • “Luck Be a Lady” m. 26-101 as Sky or Nathan (baritone): accompaniment (:58-2:00)

    • “Sit Down You’re Rocking the Boat” m. 5-28 as Nicely Nicely (tenor--any gender can work in this role!): accompaniment 

    • Please note: you can find the most accurate reference recording here.

  3. Complete the Google Audition Form by 11/28.

  4. Have a trusted teacher complete the Recommendation Form by 11/28.

  5. Sign up for and attend group dance auditions in the cafe on 11/28. 

  6. Sign up for vocal auditions, which take place on 11/29.

  7. Attend your scheduled vocal audition on 11/29 in the choir room (wait in the drama room).
  8. Check your email by 9pm on 11/29 for information about call backs.
  9. Attend callback auditions (if invited) on 11/30 from 2:50pm-4:50pm in the choir room.
  10. Review the audition packet for details about characters, audition songs, and production expectations.
